An Eyebrow Issue

On a recent research expedition for a story I’m working on, I went to J Sisters in midtown to check out the space and get my eyebrows waxed. I don’t have beastly eyebrows or anything, but they do need some maintenance. Usually, my skin doesn’t take too well to waxing. I end up looking like I got beat up once they esthetician is done with me. Huge red stripes surround my brow. So, to make things better, I usually request that the top of my brows get waxed and the area underneath be plucked with tweezers (the skin beneath your brow is typically more sensitive). But this time, the esthetician suggested threading, which she says is gentler on skin.
If you’re not familiar with threading, here’s how it works. An esthetician takes a bit of sewing thread and wraps it around 2 fingers on each hand. Then she winds it up, places it over the hair she wants to remove, and tugs on the end of the string. The wound up area of string slides over the hair and yanks it out. It’s amazing. I highly recommend it. Now if I could only figure out how to do it on myself, I could save the $55 at J Sisters.
P.S. Sorry that the photo is of a woman. I couldn’t find one of a man.
