I don’t think I’ve been so excited about a fragrance launch in years. I finally cracked open my 30-ton style issue of Vanity Fair (a.k.a. the Kate Moss worship issue–she’s in every ad, and in almost every story!) and stumbled across an ad for Prada’s new fragrance for men, Prada Pour Homme! The bottle is beautiful, of course, made from glass with chrome accents and engraving. I was huffing and sniffing the fragrance strip like a junky and it smells darn delicious. While Prada can do no wrong in my mind, I’m a little skeptical of judging a fragrance basd on a scented strip in a magazine, so I’m going to see if I can get a whiff of the real thing and I’ll report back. The bottles hit the shelves later this month.

“Prada pour Homme was composed over a rich, complex Amber trail (vanilla, tonka bean, ladanum, patchouli) softened by a Fern accord (geranium, vetiver, orange blossom, myrrh, nirvanolide musk) calling to mind the scent of shaving soap. A fresh ‘Cologne’ facet (bergamot, mandarin orange, neroli, cardamom) and a ‘Suede’ one (leather, saffron, sandalwood) bring extra depth.”
