The Magical Mystery Mustache (No, it’s not a ride).

Have you ever wondered why the mustache has failed to make a major comeback since it’s heyday in the 1970s? It seems that the mustache has fallen victim to bad PR and numerous negative associations. Check out the rest of the story in today’s New York Times.

Jay Della Valle (pictured, left) and the folks of The Glorius Mustache Challenge are challenging men to grow their ‘staches from Halloween until their New York City screening of the documentary on November 21st. The money that is raised will be donated to Doctors Without Borders.
And of course, Gawker’s always-entertaining commentary can be read here, which isn’t really focused on the story so much as the example of why Google‘s Ad Words advertising can be so very wrong.

I think that this is one of the best ideas I have ever encountered with regards to raising money for charity. This movie has been getting a lot of press lately and now the filmmaker is using his acclaim to help an amazing humanitarian organization. I’m having my own mustache challenge and it starts today.
