The Crave: Dior Homme Skincare

There are skin care products and then there are designer skin care products. The difference? Designer products not only make your skin look better, but they make your dopp kit and bathroom counter look cool.
Consider the Dior Homme Dermo System, designed by former Dior designer Hedi Slimane. The six piece, well-edited collection of products tackles the needs of men’s skin and addresses the influences of genetics, hormones and environmental stresses that affect skin while packing powerful anti-aging benefits. The products feature two patented active ingredients: Ecdysone and Vitamin E Phosphate.
Ecdysone: Regenerates microlesions and cell regeneration, refines skin texture, and strengthens the skin barrier.
Vitamin E Phosphate: A soothing antioxidant that strengthens the skin’s natural protection against freeradicals, oxidation, etc.
And the masculine black, white and steel packaging is so chic, you’ll want to keep it on display in your bathroom.

Here’s a description of each product:
1. Smoothing Revitalizing Serum: An ultralight, quickly absorbed serum with Matrixyl that smoothes skin and relaxes facial lines.
2. Smoothing Eye Serum: A pen-like tube that offers a unique delivery system to dispense the serum containing Matrixyl and Eyeseril to the soft tip that gently applies the product to the eye area. It’s a great—and more sanitary—than using your finger.
3. Repairing Moisturizing Emulsion: A moisturizing and mattifying fluid containing zinc with a light, fresh scent that is designed to deeply rehydrate the skin and improve its texture.
4. Soothing Moisturizing Lotion: A great, lightweight, post-shave, moisturizing lotion with alpha-bisabolol that soothes razor burn and skin irritations, and protects skin from bacteria.
5. Micro-Purifying Cleansing Gel: A deep-cleansing gel with micro particles that provide a gentle exfoliation.
6. Detoxifying Matifying Mask: An impurity-killing, twice-weekly, face mask with clay and abrasive micropowders that detoxify and eradicate oil.
Interesting about using Ecdysone. Did you know that this is hormone insects use to initiate the molting process? So perhaps it will help with crabs as well! Apparently, Dior knows its hommes all too well!
I live in New York, but I am fortunate to have been using the Dior Homme Dermo System line since it was released in October 2006. I even have the rare boxed gift set which includes a Cd, mirror and cardboard descriptions of each product. For those who want to know, only four of the products were first released. The mask and the cleanser arrived later in January 2007.
The Shiseido Men line and the Polaar line (formerly Skinethics) also for men have wonderful products as well. In addition, 4voo men’s skincare also has some top quality items. Nickel also joins this list regarding quality.
In short, it usually pays to invest in a high end skincare line for optimal results.
Dior have just released two new products (on October 1st) to the Dior Homme Dermo System line. They are the following: (1) Dior Homme Dermo System Nourishing Regenerating Balm [jar--50ml, 65euros]
(2) Dior Homme Dermo System Protective Shaving Cream
[tube-125ml, 36euros].
These two products are, for the moment, available exclusively in France.
Where are the images??
Ive brought the full set of these products….they where 100% worth the £200 i spent on them my skin has gone from tres tres Horrifique to tres tres fabuleux…..If you want skin care Dior Homme is the place to go make your skin look and feel a million dollars F**k botox…!!!
Update:
The Dior Homme Dermo System has a total of 12 products. In addition to the eight mentioned above, they also have the following:
DHDS Healthy Look Moisturizing Emulsion [50ml][This emulsion gives a healthy glow to the skin and moisturizes it as well.]
DHDS Under Eye Circles Corrector [1.8ml] (available in 2 shades–one for fair skin, the other for dark skin)
DHDS Antifatigue Firming Eye Serum [15ml] This product will be replacing the soon-to-be discontinued Eye Serum in a pen applicator. [As of present, this is currently the case in Europe; the pen applicator eye serum (1.8ml) is still being sold in the U.S.
DHDS Age Control Firming Care [50ml] This will eventually replace the Smoothing Revitalizing Serum.
In addition, there are a total of three toiletry bags/washbags/trousses
with the DIOR HOMME DERMO SYSTEM logo on the bag, all were available exclusively in France.
I am fortunate to have all three bags.
The men’s line by Giorgio Armani not sold in the US (but sold in Europe) called Giorgio Armani Skin Minerals For Men is quite good. Two new products were released making it a total of 8 now. I will elaborate on each if asked to do so.
The new Shiseido Men Facial Contour Refiner (50ml and available in Europe) is a hit with me as well.
